Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello 'Señorita' Review by Annabel T Kassa

Camila Cabello, an undeniably talented singer, and Shawn Mendes, the Canadian pop sensation, have come together to release a new single ‘Señorita’. 

This song clearly is a jam, it’s stuck in your head all day. Both singers compliment the song really well and the way the female voice almost blends in with the male’s voice during the duration of the song really adds a level of greatness to it.   It certainly has a Latina feel and captures the raw, mixed feelings of love (in this case, a short-lived affair). It’s a great mix of pop and Latin American music and this song is what you would expect from two great singers. As my friend and also a fellow Shawn Mendes fan commented, ‘This song is such an improvement from their previous songs as at this stage, both have massively matured in this industry.’

The guitar notes that remain played throughout the song really highlights their voices and really sets the silent setting for Señorita. It's almost hypnotic in a way and you can't stop humming it. The lyrics fit perfectly with the song and honestly, I LOVE IT! Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are both very popular singers and for two legends to come together to produce a beautiful song is quite amazing! The music video is quite steamy but the setting really shows you the level of diversity and uniqueness of this song. It’s a story that is played out of love. Obviously, this sort of video was not what fans were expecting I think but I definitely won’t forget it. This song has widened their fanbase and can be varied in any way. Shawn Mendes has performed different, solo versions of this song while on his current tour and be sure to check it out on his instagram page! This song may not be a 'hit' with all fans but change is always good. This song will definitely stay in the charts for some time, and will certainly score a lot of more global fans, with the Latin influence in it. I would recommend it to all.

Overall, I personally really like this song as it had broadened the range of music I would listen to. Both Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have once again failed to disappoint us!
